    Shuchitabodh is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal committed to publishing high-quality research in the humanities. These guidelines are designed to assist reviewers in conducting fair, constructive, and ethical evaluations of submitted manuscripts.

  • 1. Purpose of Peer Review
    Peer review is essential for maintaining academic quality and integrity. Reviewers help the editorial team make informed decisions and assist authors in improving their work.
  • 2. Type of Peer Review
    SIRJH follows a double-blind peer review process, where both the reviewer and the author remain anonymous throughout the process.
  • 3. Reviewer Responsibilities
    Reviewers are expected to:
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of the manuscript and review process.
    • Provide objective, unbiased, and constructive feedback.
    • Declare any conflicts of interest and decline to review if necessary.
    • Avoid personal criticism and focus on academic content.
    • Submit their review within the agreed timeframe.
  • 4. Evaluation Criteria
    Reviewers should assess the manuscript based on the following:
    • Originality:Is the research novel and significant?
    • Relevance:Is the topic suitable for a humanities journal?
    • Clarity:Is the language clear and well-structured?
    • Argumentation:Are the claims well-supported and logically presented?
    • Methodology (if applicable):Are research methods sound and appropriate?
    • Contribution:Does it add to the existing body of knowledge?
    • References: Are sources relevant, sufficient, and properly cited?

    A good review should include:

    • Weaknesses:Areas needing improvement.
    • Suggestions:Specific and actionable recommendations.

  • 6. Review Timeline We request reviewers to complete their review within 2–3 weeks of receiving the manuscript. If more time is needed, please inform the editorial board promptly.
  • 7. Ethical Guidelines
    Reviewers must:
    • Avoid plagiarism and breaches of confidentiality.
    • Refrain from using content from the manuscript in any form.
    • Alert the editor to any suspected ethical issues, including plagiarism or data fabrication.
  • 8. Acknowledgment We value the time and expertise of our reviewers. Their contributions are essential to the quality of Shuchitabodh. Reviewers may request a certificate of review upon completion.
